When you have a detached garage or building your layout is in, sometimes weather can get in the way of operations, unlike the railroads of my era modeled. Even with a heated or cooled garage weather can throw a monkey wrench into the mix.
Such is the case currently with the Hitop. It’s now the third day in a row that it’s snowing here in Colorado, with another 24 hours to go. Saturday it was seventy degrees here, it’s now twelve degrees with a windchill of -3. I guess it’s Colorado for you, where we can have blizzards on Mother’s Day. Hopefully this weather will clear soon and warm up a bit for some operations soon, but for now, here’s the state of things now, with over a foot of snow on the ground and snowing heavily:
